From Start to Finish

Every resin installation we complete at Jurassic Home Solutions follows a clear, professional process. By showing you exactly how it’s done, we demonstrate not just the final beauty of our driveways, paths, patios, and pool surrounds, but also the care and precision that goes into every stage.

Preparation & Dig Out / Overlay

Before any resin is laid, the foundation must be perfect. Depending on the project, this may mean removing old block paving, tarmac, slabs, or concrete, or preparing an existing stable base for an overlay.
  • Excavation: For new installations, we dig out the existing ground to the correct depth, usually 150–250mm depending on the load requirement.
  • Sub-base: A high-quality MOT Type 1 or Type 3 aggregate is compacted to create a solid foundation.
  • Edge Restraints: Aluminium, steel, or brick edging is installed to hold the resin surface neatly in place and prevent movement over time.
  • Overlay Option: In some cases, resin can be applied directly over existing tarmac or concrete if it’s structurally sound. This saves time, cost, and disruption.

Mixing the Resin & Stone Aggregate

Once the base is ready, the resin and chosen decorative stone blend are mixed on site. This step is critical to the strength and finish of the surface.
  • Professional Mixers: We use forced-action paddle mixers that evenly coat every stone with resin, unlike cement mixers which leave clumps and weak spots.
  • Precise Ratios: Each batch is mixed with exact resin-to-stone ratios to meet manufacturer standards, ensuring durability and performance.
  • Custom Blends: Customers can choose from a wide range of natural or coloured aggregates, allowing us to match the look of your home.
  • Consistency: Every batch is checked for even coating before being transported to the installation area.

Laying & Finishing

This is where the transformation really happens. The resin-bound mixture is carefully applied and finished by skilled installers.
  • Spreading & Levelling: The resin mix is evenly spread across the prepared surface using specialist tools.
  • Trowelling: Our team hand-trowels the resin to achieve a seamless, smooth finish without ridges or uneven patches.
  • Attention to Detail: Corners, edges, and patterns are handled with care to ensure clean lines and precise results.
